Kitchen Redecorating, Painting Ceilings and Interior Doors

We started by coving everything up in the kitchen dust sheets down and plastic over the kitchen cupboards to protect them from and paint and dust the best we can. Following on from that we mist coated the the plaster work on the walls and prepped the ceiling and walls that wasn’t plastered.

Walls Filling, Sanding, Caulking and Dulux Paint

Next, our team painted the ceiling in 2 coats of Dulux White Supermatt. We then started the walls after we had finished sanding any filler and caulking out anywhere that was needed.

Following completion of this we painted the walls with 2 coats of Dulux Trade Pure Brilliant White Diamond matt for best protection of the walls in the kitchen.

Preparation of wooden doors, undercoat and satinwood finish

There where 2 doors to paint and door frames that was white already and needed a bit of prep work and undercoat and satinwood to finish that, the skirting was wood so that need a bit of extra work doing as if it’s not completed properly the paint will refuse to stick and will chip off easily.

Sanding to a smooth finish, Priming and Top Coat of Paint

We commence work by giving it a thorough sand down to help make the paint adhere, following on from that we vacuum the surfaces and wipe it down with a damp cloth to remove dirt and dust. We mask up the floor, so we get a nice line between skirting and floor.

We then paint 2 coats of primer and give it as long as you can so that it can eat into the wood to help it stick properly, we like to give it 24 hours if possible. Perfect Colours Decorating then put 1 undercoat and 1 coat of satin wood on to complete the project.
