Perfect Colours Decorating recently attended a decorating project which took just over two weeks to complete. This wasn’t the first time at the property, this in fact is one of our repeat clients. Over the past few months we had already completed some of the tasks, and there was a third party employed to complete some of other works and tasks.

Unfortunately as it transpired that poor work was carried out at this time to the property – hence we was asked to quote on resolving everything, “putting the wrongs right” and doing it all over again to a higher standard.

 

High Standard Decorating That’s Cost Effective

Some of the bad points on the job were methods I genuinely wouldn’t have expected a painter to carry out.

 

• One of the things was the ‘cutting’ in around sockets and light switches – For some reason the individual made the decision to paint on the edge around the sockets and light switches and some of them were brand new (and coloured) sockets as this was an extension to the house.
• We tried our very best getting the paint off and removing all of the erroneous surface coatings.
• The second situation was that the ‘cutting in’ on the coving – instead of cutting the colour in under the coving it was cut in on the bottom of the coving. This being a dark grey we had to apply 3 coats of white paint so that we could cut it back in without detection to the human eye. We believe in the extra time being invested into all of our projects, and to us this was an essential yet small task.
• The third demonstration of beginner knowledge and low quality materials – was the coverage of the paint this individual had applied onto the walls and ceiling.
• The grey paint was transluscent and when the customer gave me the can of paint being Farrow and Ball it was watered down so much she still had a full tin (we did have a giggle about it with the customer thankfully).
• The white paint that was applied over the new plaster was not covered very well – you could see though all around the corners.
• Onto the old ceiling. Genuinely we were at a total loss exactly of the method that the ceiling coating was applied, but it was on in an exceedingly thick manner. It was so gelatinous and viscous it looked like he started to tried to scrape it off with something in odd places. Therefore we took great care to sand and refill some areas to restore a smooth surface finish.
